PPC automation log

The Automation Log provides a complete, transparent history of all PPC changes applied in sellerboard.
It records what was changed, when it was changed, how it was applied, and why.

The log includes:

  • Changes applied automatically when automation is enabled
  • Changes you manually approved via PPC Recommendations
  • Scheduled changes that are pending execution

Use the Automation Log to audit PPC activity, validate automation rules, and understand how your campaigns evolve over time.

What the Automation Log is used for

The Automation Log is designed for traceability and control.

It helps you:

  • Verify that automation behaves as expected
  • Understand why bids or keywords changed
  • Review historical optimization decisions
  • Share a clear change history with team members
  • Export PPC change data for offline analysis

Unlike the PPC Dashboard, this page does not show performance metrics. It focuses exclusively on change history.

Accessing the Automation Log

How do I open the Automation Log?

  1. Open the main menu.
  2. Go to PPC → Automation Log.

The page opens with the most recent changes at the top.

What changes are recorded

Each entry in the Automation Log represents a single PPC action.

These include:

  • Bid increases or decreases
  • Keyword or ASIN transfers between campaigns
  • Promotion of well-performing search terms
  • Negative keyword additions for poorly-performing terms

Both automated and manually approved actions are recorded.

Understanding log entries

Each row in the Automation Log contains detailed context about the change.

You can see:

  • The date and time of the change
  • The campaign and ad group affected
  • The keyword or ASIN, when applicable
  • The change type, indicating whether it was:
    • Automatically applied, or
    • Manually approved
  • The bid strategy, when relevant
  • A comment explaining the reason for the change

Comments typically describe:

  • What was changed
  • The previous and new value
  • The optimization goal (for example, improving ACOS)

This makes it possible to understand not just what changed, but why.

Completed vs Pending changes

The Automation Log is divided into two views: Completed and Pending.

Completed changes

The Completed view shows all changes that have already been applied to Amazon.
This includes both automated actions and manually approved recommendations.

Pending changes

The Pending view shows scheduled changes that have not yet been executed.

This view is only relevant when:

  • Automation is enabled in manual or test mode
  • Changes require user approval before execution

Once a pending change is applied, it moves to the Completed view.

Filtering and searching the log

As your PPC activity grows, the Automation Log can become extensive. Filtering helps you focus on what matters.

How do I filter the Automation Log?

  1. Use the filter controls at the top of the page.
  2. Narrow results by:
    • Campaign
    • Change type (All, Auto, Manual)
    • Date range

How do I search for a specific keyword or ASIN?

  1. Click into the search bar.
  2. Enter a keyword, ASIN, or campaign name.
  3. Press Enter to apply the search.

The list updates instantly.

Exporting the Automation Log

How do I export the Automation Log?

You can export log data for documentation or review.

  1. Click Export in the bottom-left corner for a standard spreadsheet export, or
  2. Use the export icon in the top-right corner for extended export options.

Exports are useful for:

  • Team reviews
  • External analysis
  • Historical PPC audits

Relationship to PPC Recommendations

Why don’t I see some changes in PPC Recommendations?

If a campaign’s automation status is set to On:

  • Matching recommendations are applied immediately
  • They do not appear on the PPC Recommendations page
  • The change is recorded directly in the Automation Log

The Recommendations page only shows actions that still require user approval.
